Nigerian drug smuggler who began convulsing at Madrid airport after bags of cocaine he’d swallowed split open was left to die because terrified staff thought he had Ebola A Nigerian drug mule has died in a Spanish airport after cocaine bags inside his body split open - because airport staff refused to touch him fearing he had Ebola. The man collapsed in the customs area of the Madrid-Barajas airport outside the capital after arriving on a flight from Istanbul. Upon hearing that the man was from Nigeria, staff were too afraid to approach the man and left him in shivers on the airport floor. The man, who had landed on a flight from Istanbul on October 18, died 90 minutes later from a massive drugs overdose, Spain's El Mundo newspaper said. It later transpired that the man was suffering the effects of a cocaine overdose after several bags of the drug burst in his stomach. A enger accompanying the Nigerian later told police that he had flown from Madrid to Istanbul on October 14 and had not been to Nigeria for four years. Ebola has killed 4,877 people in the past six weeks, almost all of whom were infected with the virus in West Africa. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2806397/Nigerian-drug-smuggler-began-convulsing-Madrid-airport-bags-cocaine-d-swallowed-split-open-left-die-terrified-staff-thought-Ebola.html |

How long did it take for a specially equipped (clothed) Team to turn up? I can understand the medical staff at the Airport. if the authorities don't supply them with suitable safety-suits, why should they risk their lives.

Drug mules are worse than drug dealers. He took one chance too many but I wonder how many people have died because of drugs he's trafficked in the past. Karma....

I wouldn't wish such a horrible death on anyone, especially in such an undignified way on an airport floor. That said, ingesting/inserting such large amounts of cocaine is tantamount to suicide, intended or otherwise. Odd that they couldn't get a doctor to him inside those 90 minutes though. I'd have expected airports to have had a plan by now rather than just leaving folk dotted around the concourse to die.

Feedmemore:He made a greedy choice - let him deal with it. How about the millions of people that'd become junkies due to his actions? How about crimes that'd be induced by the drugs he is peddling? No criminal or law breaker deserve any form of sympathy - because their death could mean the life of an innocent, unsuspecting law abiding citizen. 46 Likes 1 Share |

Truckpusher: Truckpusher, I'm not in anyway ive of what he did, mbanu!!. All I'm stressing is the way they watched him died because they thought he had Ebola. They are implying that those who show any symptoms of Ebola won't be treated- instead assumed to have Ebola. Heart attack victims often vomit & placing an AED on them immediately could save their life. However, I think the best course of action is to just stop travel from certain African countries completely & this hysteria can be avoided in airports. 30 Likes |

His name is not there now. We need his name to enable us comment appropriately. If truely he is a Nigerian, i can guess where he comes from. It sucks to come from that side. Crime, drug pushing are in their genes. These people should stop disgracing Nigeria. 4 Likes |
