"Vilifying Pastor Kumuyi Over The #JusticeForDonDavis Incident Is Uncalled For" - Reno Omokri

Reno Omokri has spoken against Nigerians vilifying the General Overseer of Deeper Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi, over the alleged sexual abuse of Don Davis, a JS1 student of the Deeper Life High School, which is owned by Kumuyi's Ministry, IgbereTV reports.

Since Don Davis's mother came out to cry out for justice, Nigerians have attacked the clergyman for not openly speaking about the incident. They believe that his comment would show that he is committed to getting justice for the child.

Reno however shares a different opinion. He believes that the attack on the clergyman is uncalled for.

On his Instagram page, he wrote;

''Vilifying Pastor Kumuyi over the #JusticeForDonDavis incident is uncalled for. The principal was speedily suspended. A 3rd party is investigating. Therefore, a media lynching is unhelpful. Blaming Kumuyi is like blaming Christ for Judas’s behaviour! #JusticeForDonDavis shouldn’t be driven by media hysteria. What needs to be done seems to be going on. The state and police are investigating. If anything shady is ESTABLISHED to be going on with the probe, we should raise an alarm. If not, let’s be patient with the investigation. Many people genuinely care about #JusticeForDonDavis. But, a few people just want to trend by throwing mud at men, like Pastor Kumuyi, whose lives, though not perfect, are a pattern of good works. If he talks on issues under investigation, he will be preempting the investigation"

I agree with oga Reno on this one...

The reason why Nigeria is in real deep trouble. People think it's is a taboo to take responsibility. You can't call out President Buhari for the ills going on in the North East and won't call out Pastor Kumuyi for the ills going on in Deeper Life High School. That's not correct.

What seems hard for people to understand is that you can't get people to approve of everything you do. If pastor Kumuyi finally speaks up concerning the issue, know that it is likely because of the overwhelming pressure than of free will.


Kumuyi is a man of wisdom.He has influence, his words are not mere and I don't mean bearing spiritual potency now. If he condemns the act publicly, it will be marked on the sands of time. This is a young boy, who is likely to be haunted by the shame and depression arising from that molestation in future, not to mention the boy that pastor Kumuyi talked about.

Social media never forgets. But some things make it more reminding— speeches from influential people for a start.

And anyone who thinks his silence means that he is proud and happy of the act is simply not being truthful.

His opinion also uncalled for.

The air will soon be cleared so as the cretics will be silenced soon....

Reno is correct on this one. He handed over to a management with PTA and even Prefects among the kids but they failed him. He can't be everywhere. All that Kumuyi needs to do is reappraisal of their performances and apply appropriate punishment for dereliction of duties

Not everything comes on social media. These men don't live their lives on social media. They deal decisively with things without bringing it on social media.

We don't know if youths of nowadays ever sit down and plan to make their life meaningful. 
All they are looking for is to say trash against men of God.
What many of you don't know is that you keep shutting doors against your self and your future when you say bs against God's servants.

Just because you have a phone do not give you the right to come online to comment on things you don't understand and say different kinda trash.

The whole case isn't Kumuyi's fault, and most of us who are angry about the case know where to put the blame....squarely on the prinicipal and tthe teachers., and whoever is in charge of Deeper Life's educational department.

But at the end of the day, what we want is justice.
