It was gathered that the suspects were apprehended in the early hours of Wednesday following actionable intelligence.

Operatives of the Nasarawa State Police Command have intercepted two suspected arms traffickers transporting a large cache of high-grade firearms and ammunition from Benue to Kwara State.

It was gathered that the suspects were apprehended in the early hours of Wednesday following actionable intelligence. This was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Nasarawa Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Ranham Nansel. The statement read,

“On June 4, 2025, at about 03:09 hours, acting on credible, actionable intelligence, the Command intercepted two suspected gun runners traveling through Lafia in possession of a large cache of high-grade firearms and ammunition en route to Ilorin, Kwara State."

Nansel said that the anti-kidnapping unit swiftly launched an operation leading to the arrest of two men: Dahiru Abdullahi, a 75-year-old native of Funtua in Katsina State, and Lawal Sani, a 40-year-old commuter driver from Makwalla, also in Katsina State.

Items recovered from the suspects include one General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG), three AK-47 rifles, one TAB 06 rifle, 1086 rounds of 7.62x39mm ammunition, 20 rounds of 7.62 NATO calibre ammunition, four empty magazines, and a Toyota Hiace bus used for transport.

Nansel explained that the suspect “confessed to being paid N500,000 to transport the weapons from Benue to Kwara State – a transaction that could have armed multiple criminal networks.”

He added that a full-scale investigation has commenced to uncover the actors behind the arms transaction, while those arrested have been taken into custody.

These people have fully embraced terrorism and I don't think insecurity will vanish anytime soon. The CDS have being in the media pleading with the people to stop collaborating with terrorists but seems the plea is falling on deaf ears.

Then you ask yourself, how did these heavy equipments came into the country. And why are people not getting summoned for questioning

Why are there no emergency meeting on our Border security
How many times will you be told we have over 1,000 porous borders?, do you know what that means? Or Yu think the security personnel can man them all at once?

When will our borders start giving us sleepless night. Will investing on our Borders be a wrong investment

How can we tackle insecurity without our Border as a Top Priority

Almighty America, Guns and drugs through the borders with ease.

Russia with the war still has the same.

This requires high patriotism and technology.

No be mouth.

They will release those 2 gun runners and case will be closed with no further investigations.
What the Fulani herdsmen are doing in the middle belt is what they are trying to happen in south west

To curb insecurity in this country, the CinC must be ready to step on toes....

Sideline the armed forces and bring together smart security consultants to help coordinate security actions by contractors in the 6 geo-political zones of the country

......the goal is to reset the security architecture of the country..

While Jihadists take positions in all the states of Nigeria waiting for final command for Jihad to have Islamic Republic of Nigeria to be governed with Sharia criminal laws, Tinubu and his cohorts are only interested in 2027 reelection moves

yesterday news at channels tv news, its from right their I knew the security challenge of this nation is irredeemable. No hope. If the government see bandit as just criminal or intra communal clashes then we are all toast.

Every Nigerian needs to be on the alert. Warn your people. Fulani are encircling the middle belt. Huge numbers of arms and ammunition are being transported to Fulani camps deep in forests all over Nigeria.

Over 950 such camps exist in the south east alone. They use nasarawa state as a base from which they launch operations into the states around.

We should not allow these people take us unawares.
