Culled from Microsecondnews

A real-life Nollywood story happened in a community in Anambra where the siblings of an American returnee, identified as Peter Mokwuah, reportedly held him prisoner in his own house for up to a year, during which he became emaciated and was waiting for death.

The story was shared by the daughter of the victim, Ifunanya Mokwuah, who had to fly back home to Nigeria to rescue his father.

According to Ifunanya, her father lived and worked in New York for 25 years and, upon retirement, decided to go back to his village where he had built a mansion for himself and his family.
All seemed to be well, and he was communicating regularly with his family back in the United States until he suddenly stopped around 2020.
Ifunanya said this was intriguing to her because, as the first daughter, she was very close to her father and could not imagine what could keep her father from calling her for months.
She said many of her calls to her father went unanswered, and when the calls were picked it was by her aunt, who would sometimes say she was cooking in the kitchen and her father was upstairs.

At other times, the aunt would tell her she was out of the house, but that Peter was well, and she would ask him to call her back when she got home. He never did.

After about six months of not hearing from her father directly, Ifunanya was worried stiff, not knowing if he was dead or alive. In a series of videos, wherein Ifunanya shared her testimony, she recalled how the Holy Spirit instructed her she had to visit Nigeria to save her dad, and she obeyed.

He said her dad could never be in need of money because he drew a monthly pension of $5000 (about N7.5m) and had a mansion and cars at his disposal. Upon that, she said she would often send money to him again, especially when they were not hearing from him, thinking that he probably ran out of cash.

Ifunanya said she asked for two weeks off at her place of work and travelled down to Nigeria in January 2022.

She spent part of the holiday in Lagos and proceeded to their village in Enugwu Ukwu, but realised that a truckload of sand had been dumped in front of her father’s gate, making it impossible for any vehicle to enter or depart. That was the first sign of trouble she noticed, but she saw more when she proceeded to climb over the sand and bang the gate.

According to her, her uncle and aunt came out and furiously demanded what she was doing in Nigeria.

“They threw sand on me and called me a prostitute, telling me to go away”, she recalled.

Ifunanya said she refused to leave and insisted on entering her father’s compound. She recalled that the commotion drew the attention of villagers and youths who demanded to know what was happening.
Upon convincing them that she was the first daughter of the owner of the compound, the villagers began to challenge the uncle, called s and the aunt, Josephine, asking why they were preventing a daughter from seeing her father.

The crowd reportedly attempted to beat s and Josephine for what they called an abomination, but were protected by the elders.
Ifunanya said they were able to enter and access the ground floor of the three-storey mansion her father built in the village.

At that point, Ifunanya said Josephine claimed her father had travelled to Abuja and put a call through to another brother of Peter who stayed in Abuja.

The brother, identified as Uncle Christopher, corroborated the claim that Peter was with him in Abuja, but he stepped out of the house and would call Ifunanya back.

Ifunanya said the Holy Spirit told her it was a lie and that her father was upstairs, and she then insisted that she would like to go upstairs to see her father’s room.

After some resistance, the youths forced their way in and led Ifunanya upstairs, where she found her father on a dirty mattress on the floor.
The legs were already skinny, and his beard and nails were very long and unkempt. Ifunanya said she broke down in tears to see her father in that state. According to her, her father recognised her instantly and was very happy to see her apparently thinking that finally salvation had arrived for him.

Businesswoman Rene Advises Mid-Twenties Women on Dating

Ladies Once you’re 25 don’t do talking stage for more than 2 weeks. Go on 2/3 dates with him , know where he lives, find out what he does, meet a good friend of his , find out about his family. Leave the rest to God and chance but don’t waste time on talking stage, it’s a scam.

Move on to relationship sharply.

If it doesn’t work, move on. Don’t waste your time.

Apart from children, she doesn't have any tier again with your late father. Till death do us path was the vow. After death, surviving party can go on with his or her life.

You shouldn't be angry your mum wants to remarry instead you should be more concerned about your siblings and start planning a better life for them.

Student declared missing by mother expelled for drug peddling – Babcock

A student of Babcock University, Illishan Remo, Ogun State, who was declared missing by his mother, Oladipupo Siwajuola, has been expelled by the institution’s management for engaging in fetish practices and drug peddling among others.

The Babcock’s Director of Marketing and Communication, Joshua Suleiman, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.

PUNCH Metro recalls that Siwajuola’s disappearance was brought to light by his mother, Fijabi Oyindamola Omotayo, who took to Facebook on May 3 to demand the whereabouts of her son and to allege negligence on the part of the institution.

Following her outcry, the student was later found but Babcock University management revealed that he had left the campus without authorisation.

The institution had also indicated that it could institute a lawsuit against the parent over what they described as a “sensational and misleading” social media outburst.

In the Wednesday statement, Babcock varsity disclosed that Siwajuola had deliberately left the campus without clearance and disguised himself in a hoodie to sneak out through the university’s Teaching Hospital gate.

Suleiman added that the student, upon returning to the campus on May 15, was invited by the Department of Secret Service, where he confessed to several acts of misconduct which were against the institution’s guidelines.

He continued, “Among them was the purchase of black soap from a traditional herbalist for N100,000, which contradicted his mother’s earlier claim that she had given it to him to treat a skin condition. Siwajuola itted that the soap was intended for ritual purposes, as part of a “Yahoo Yahoo Plus” scheme, a slang term for internet fraud mixed with fetish practices.

“He revealed he was engaging in fetish practices in an attempt to get rich quickly.

He also confessed to drug peddling, borrowing N500,000 from an online loan app to fund gambling, and impersonating another student to open a bank .”

The statement further noted that Siwajuola had sold his phone without authorisation and misled the buyer by claiming that his father had consented.

While contrasting Siwajuola’s mother’s claim that her son was found by his secondary school friends, the university disclosed that it was Sodiq’s mother, the parent of a friend he stayed with in Lagos, who discovered his presence in their home and alerted his family after noticing the growing online controversy.

Following investigations, Babcock University stated that Siwajuola was found liable for multiple offences, including “unauthorised exit from campus, possession and use of fetish materials, drug peddling, impersonation and dishonesty, and unauthorised sale of personal property.”

The university added that it had no choice but to expel Siwajuola per global best practices.

“While we recognise the emotional weight of this decision, especially for the family involved, our foremost responsibility remains the safety and moral integrity of all students entrusted to our care,” Suleiman said.

While expressing displeasure towards the mother’s public outcry, the university said it would not be instituting a lawsuit against her because of the conduct of Siwajuola’s father.

“These claims were not only false but also misleading.

“However, because of the responsible conduct shown by the student’s father, the university will not pursue a libel case at this time,” Suleiman concluded.

Man shares why his friend blocked him on social media following discussion about why he divorced his wife.

I noticed someone blocked me everywhere. Still not sure if what I said was wrong so pls be the judge.. I hadn’t seen him with his wife for a while and saw they deleted each other’s pics on Instagram, so I asked what was up.
He said they’re divorced.
I asked what happened.

He said she’s not homely, can’t cook, doesn’t clean — and the final straw was when he asked her to wash his expensive Dior sneakers before a trip. Instead of scrubbing them, she threw them in the washing machine and they got ruined.

So I asked:
Did she cook when you were dating?

He said no.
Did she clean or wash?
He said no.

I said, so she’s never been doing those things, and you expected her to suddenly change cos you’re married?
He got angry.

They were married for just 18 months 💔

A lot of people are getting married without understanding what marriage really is.
The red flags you ignore while dating won’t disappear — they’ll only grow.
You can’t change your partner. Heck, you can’t even change yourself.
Know what you’re g up for and ask yourself if you can truly live with it — for life.

The Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, arraigned one Ewulum Chimeze Felix on an 11-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence, stealing, possession of fraudulent documents and forgery to the tune of N23,500,280 (Twenty-Three Million, Five Hundred Naira Two Hundred and Eighty kobo)  before Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos.

Chimeze allegedly promised to help the petitioner obtain a United Kingdom visa,  work permit as well as a certificate of sponsorship to travel abroad.

He, however, allegedly reneged on his promise after collecting money from the petitioner.

One of the counts reads: “EWULUM CHIMEZE FELIX (Trading Under the name and style of Slenzy Ventures), sometime in 2024 at Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, obtained the sum of N18,038,000.00 (Eighteen million Thirty-eight Thousand Naira only) from

Nnochiri Chiedozie Boniface by falsely representing that the money was for procuring the United Kingdom visa  and work permit, a representation you  knew to be false".

Another count reads: “ That you, Ewulun Chimeze Felix, on or about 10th March, 2025 at Lagos, within the  jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, had in your possession several fraudulent documents, one of which is a forged Florida Driver's licence with the name "VOJTISEK ADRIENA" ,which you presented to unsuspecting victims, a representation you knew to be false".

He pleaded  not guilty to the charges when they were read to him

In view of this, prosecution counsel, M. B. Isha, prayed for a trial date, and also urged the court to remand the defendant at a Correctional Centre pending his trial date.

The defence counsel, Michael O. Nwigbo, however, informed the court of a pending application for bail for his client, and also prayed for a short date for the hearing.

Consequently, Justice Dada adjourned the matter till June 17, 2025 for the commencement of trial and also  ordered the custodial remand of the defendant pending his trial.

Just ₦10k monthly?Man expresses shock as fuel attendants in Maitama reveal their monthly salary after a failed protest for increment 🚨⛽

This morning, I stopped by AP Filling Station in Maitama, opposite Transcorp, to fuel my car. To my surprise, I noticed the fuel attendants murmuring, so I decided to engage one of them since there weren’t many cars around. I asked what was going on, and the lady told me they had just protested to the management for a salary increase, but their request was rejected.

I gently asked how much they earn monthly, and to my shock, she said they’re paid ₦10,000 per month. I asked if she meant ₦100,000, but she insisted it was ₦10,000. She even called one of her colleagues, and when I asked her, she confirmed it.

Where is the Nigerian Labour Congress when you need them? This is exactly the kind of issue people likes of @YeleSowore, @adeyanjudeji etc should be fighting for, instead of focusing solely on the presidency. Nigerians aren’t even fair to each other.

How do they expect these workers to transport themselves, feed their families, and not be tempted to steal from customers? A big station like Androva Petroleum shouldn’t be paying staff such a disgracefully low salary.

I hope they act fast. I feel genuinely sad for them and pray they get justice as soon as possible.
