In 2014, this man rejected a national award from President Goodluck Jonathan, citing democratic principles. He also protested against Jonathan when fuel was less than #100 per litre and dollars was about #250. Today he has accepted the same award from President Tinubu who has done so much damage to the economy. Today, fuel is about #1000, and the dollars is over #1600. You will now decide if this man lives on his own principles or if he is an overrated ethnic bigot...
COPIED!
Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, said, yesterday, HE REJECTED HIS NOMINATION for centenary award by the Federal Government BECAUSE HE COULD NOT SHARE THE AWARDwith the late Head of State, GENERAL SANI ABACHA, who he described as a “murderer and thief of no redeeming quality”.https://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/03/rejected-centenary-award-soyinka/

We all know Peter Obi is very dumb and lacks the leadership quality to lead an ethnically diverse and economically challenged country like Nigeria. We saw him as governor of Anambra state for 8 years with little or nothing to show for it. In fact, 95% of Ibo people who ed him for tribal reasons in 2023 cursed and abused him when he was governor.
So, what exactly did the Living in bondage man said that is new or untrue?
Again, I find it hilarious but irritating that Peter Obi’s camp still found a way to blame Tinubu for the pubic outbursts of Kenneth Okonkwo. Can’t these set of cretinous obidients ever take responsibility for anything? Who the heck would waste time to recruit an Okonkwo into a destroy Peter Obi at all cost operation when Peter Obi on the ballot means easy victory for Tinubu?
Apapa had issues with Peter Obi, they blamed it on Tinubu. Arabambi had issues with Peter Obi, they blamed it on Tinubu. Abure had issues with Peter Obi, they blamed it on Tinubu. Now that it’s Keneth Okonkwo blasting Peter Obi, they are blaming Tinubu again for recruiting him to destroy Peter Obi?
Is it not obvious to everyone that Peter Obi is actually the problem? Why is Valentine Ozigbo and Obaze Oseloka no longer with him?
You have completely known how they operate. They never take responsibilities for the actions of their temu messiah.

According to Grok, X AI, Peter Obi's claim about Tinubu borrowing more money than the past 3 president combined is not accurate.
Peter Obi's claim that Tinubu's government borrowed more in two years than Yar'Adua, Jonathan, and Buhari combined appears inaccurate.
Data shows Nigeria's debt at 94.23 billion USD by Q4 2024 under Tinubu, while the combined debt of prior istrations is roughly 213.84 billion USD.
However, debt figures vary due to exchange rates and definitions of "borrowing." The claim oversimplifies complex financial data, and exact new loan amounts are unclear. Further scrutiny is needed for a definitive conclusion.

Speaking at The Platform, a special Democracy Day edition organised by The Covenant Nation in the Iganmu area of Lagos State on Thursday, the former Central Bank governor lauded the istration’s bold economic decisions, which he said have stabilised a dangerously deteriorating economy.
“I’d disappoint many who would expect me to comment harshly on the economy or offer yet another blueprint for economic reforms.
“I’m not shy to say this: the audacious structural reforms embarked upon by the current istration of President Bola Tinubu have rescued the economy from the tipping point,” Soludo stated.
Since assuming office in May 2023, President Tinubu has implemented significant economic changes, including the removal of petrol subsidies and the unification of multiple foreign exchange windows.
While these policies have drawn criticism for driving up energy costs, transportation fares, and food prices, proponents argue they were long overdue and necessary for long-term growth.
The Anambra Governor, known for his forthright views on national economic matters, highlighted the global recognition Nigeria has received following the reforms.
“The endorsement by the World Bank, the IMF, the London Financial Times, and more in Nigeria is well deserved,” he stated.
Drawing from his own experience, Soludo disclosed that he had previously rejected World Bank loans due to unfavourable , but acknowledged that the global institutions were correct in their assessment of Nigeria’s current reform path.
“On the matter of the trajectory of the current economic reforms, the World Bank and others, in my view, are largely right,” he said. “When these institutions criticise the government, some people use them as validation of their own criticism. But when the same institutions give a positive report, they are derided as ‘neoliberal, out-of-touch’ institutions. We can’t have it both ways.”
‘Economy Was Standing Still’
Soludo specifically cited the controversial removal of subsidies and unification of the foreign exchange rate as necessary steps that allowed the economy to “breathe again.”
“If we didn’t do the kind of subsidy removal and deal with the exchange rate issues, we would have reached a point where the economy was just standing still. We couldn’t move any further. We needed fundamental rejigging for it to begin to breathe again — and thank God, at least, we are here,” he said.
While acknowledging that the journey is far from over, Soludo urged the Tinubu istration to stay the course.
“There is still a lot more to do, but I urge the President and his team to steer the course. Many analysts have interesting opinions and quotes, but I urge them to go deeper, with rigorous, factual analysis, and to provide credible alternatives,” he added.
Quoting a friend, Soludo noted, “The past is always easy, especially if you are not the one doing it.”
Thursday’s event, The Platform, drew several high-profile attendees, including former INEC Chairman Attahiru Jega, former Minister of Works and Housing Babatunde Fashola, governors, and other national figures.
It was organised as part of activities marking Nigeria’s Democracy Day on June 12.

Nigerian Govt Disowns Textbooks Alleging Igbo Founding Of Ile-Ife, Vows Probe Into ‘Yoruba History Distortion’
The petition, titled Petition to Defend Yoruba History from Ethnic Distortion in Nigerian Textbooks, was submitted by the Concerned Citizens of Yoruba Origin and ers of Truth.
The Nigerian Government has responded to a petition alleging the distortion of Yoruba history in Nigerian school textbooks, particularly over claims that Ile-Ife—the ancestral home of the Yoruba people—was founded or first occupied by the Igbo.
The petition, titled Petition to Defend Yoruba History from Ethnic Distortion in Nigerian Textbooks, was submitted by the Concerned Citizens of Yoruba Origin and ers of Truth.
It was signed by the group’s National Chairman, Otunba Abayomi Odunowo, and addressed to the Federal Ministry of Education, Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC), National Assembly Committee on Education, state education ministries, and other institutions.
According to the petition, two books—Standard History Studies for JSS 1–3 by Tony and Ijeoma Duru, and The Igbo: People, History and Worldview by Dons Eze and Chinedu Ochinanwata—contain false narratives that present Ile-Ife as originally settled by the Igbo before Oduduwa allegedly invaded and drove them out.
“The attention of the Federal Ministry of Education has been drawn to a petition titled ‘Petition to Defend Yoruba History from Ethnic Distortion in Nigerian Textbooks,’ submitted by the Concerned Citizens of Yoruba Origin and ers of Truth, through its National Chairman, Otunba Abayomi Odunowo,” the Ministry said.
“The petition raises concerns over alleged historical inaccuracies in a history textbook authored by Tony and Ijeoma Duru, and published by Tones Publishers. The publication is said to contain claims regarding the founding of Ile-Ife that have been described as misleading and potentially harmful to national unity.”
The statement further said, “The Ministry wishes to clarify that the said textbook was not authored, commissioned, or approved by the Federal Ministry of Education.
“It is not among the instructional materials approved for use in public basic education institutions across the country, and the Ministry is not in any way d with the publication.
“The Ministry appreciates the vigilance and concern of stakeholders regarding the potential of such content to misinform learners and provoke ethnic tension.
“While these concerns are valid, it is important to note that the Ministry is not responsible for materials that fall outside its regulatory framework.”
The Ministry, in a statement signed by Boriowo Folasade, Director, Press and Public Relations, stated that officially approved instructional materials are developed to meet national education standards and promote equitable access to quality education.
It also noted that the issue would be investigated in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) and other agencies.
“All necessary steps will be taken to address the anomalies identified and to ensure a fair and timely resolution that respects historical truth and promotes unity,” it said.
“The Federal Ministry of Education remains fully committed to providing quality, inclusive, and culturally respectful education that fosters peace, understanding, and national development.”

I bet if not for colonisation and the whiteman denouncing such practices, sacrificing someone when an oba dies, would still have been an acceptable practice in the Southwest
They had stopped that in the SW before the arrival of the whites. It was still practiced in Benin though and that was the justification of the British for the invasion.
The Benin would often send isoko and urhobo people to go to igboland to capture slaces for sacrifices. Source: "Benin, the city of blood by Reginald Overend"
In addition, the igbos were famous for cannibalism and killing of twins practices. Reference: "GT Basden (Among the igbos of Nigeria)" and "The peoples of Southern Nigeria: a sketch of their history, ethnology and languages with an abstract of the 1921 census

Tinubu should have used this opportunity to grant state pardon to Nnamdi KANU,ipob leader under incarceration.
The ovation would have been loudest and provide the window for national reconciliation.
He has missed the opportunity.
Leaders all over the world gauge the mood of the nation and act accordingly. The Nnamdi KANU case is a sore on our national psyche and Deep divide on national integration.
Tinubu got this wrong!
Nnamdi kanu is a terrorist and many igbos lost their lives due to his terrorism activities.
If Kanu is pardoned, then we might as well pardon all thr criminals currserving jail in kirikiri and other prisons across Nigeria.
